Ina Shai is a London based singer-songwriter who is slowly but surely hitting the scene with her soulful and powerful vocals. Her captivating and emotive live performances truly give her an edge, engaging with her audience on a deeper level and leaving a lasting impression. Ina’s music is lyrically comparable to Sam Smith, while stylistically a modern take on Sade.
Ina is originally from Slovenia where she built a significant following – performing on big festival stages, appearing on TV and getting radio play. She was recently awarded the title "Most prominent artist 2015" at the Slovenian festival "Melodije Morja in Sonca".
Ina’s music took a back seat when she began studying Law and 2 years later she moved to London to pursue her career in music. For the past year Ina has been writing, performing and developing her sound, sparking up industry interest prior to her release through her YouTube channel. She has also been invited to play at venues such as the infamous Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Young Designer Awards and several Major of London and Lyrix Organix events to name a few. Ina’s covers have been featured as a Top 5 on Covernation YouTube channel, Top Ten on Music Meets Video Smash Hit Series and one of her recent collaborations with producer Nimino reached over 300k views on YouTube and Soundcloud. Ina has also recently been selected for a private writing camp with multiplatinum songwriter Carla Marie Williams (credits Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Naughty Boy, Girls Aloud.)
After successfully raising over 100% of her goal through a Stereotribes crowdfunding campaign Ina has released her 4-track debut EP ‘Overload’ in October 2016.
The EP demonstrates a fusion of raw emotions drawing directly from personal experience. Her skilful song writing allows each song to be very unique yet universally relatable. The EP has also been a creative exploration of her talent leaving her future sound a surely soulful yet fascinating prospect.
